Just received this from Jah- “PC World now has stocks of the Eee PC at £199.99 in the UK. My local store in Farnborough only has white ones.” Link.
UPDATE- “As soon as I read this I ran to my nearest PC World (in Fulham, London). Well I am very disappointed, it is the usual PC World mess and incompetence:
1. The product is not on display.
2. You’re not allowed to look at it.
3. You can’t even see the box.
4. After I spent a good 10 minutes discussing with a sales assistant, he eventually and reluctantly agreed to go to storage to check the box: the one they sell is the basic model (2G, no webcam) for £200.
Although I really want one, I didn’t buy it because I want the one with 4G and webcam (+ I would prefer black). With some patience, you can get double the memory, an integrated webcam and the color you want for only £20 more!”

Its the 2GB version by the looks of it. Our local Toys R Us is a few doors down from PC World and is probably a better bet, they have the 4GB version for just £20 more.
PC World have both models now, the 2GB Surf model and the 701 4GB model
I finally managed to get an EEEPC Black from PC World. The 4GB version for £219. The Exeter store still has 4 left as of 20 Dec.
PC World in Preston (Lancashire) had a delivery of black 4gb and sold out within an hour, there are a few stores across the North West with them still in stock – Best advice is to use the PC World website and reserve it on line for collection at a later date should you be lucky enough to find them in stock locally.
All the stores in the NW are selling the 2g surf for the same price as the 4g with webcam, which makes little sense, both are priced at £199.99. All of the 4g stock appears to be black whilst the 2g units are white.
As usual PC World staff were unware of the differences, I reserved two 4g for collection at my local store and they went and reseverd 2g surf’s instead, thankfully the sales assistant found the last two 4g’s in stock and sold them to me.
Got a black 701 from PC World Bradford – they had three and called me because they knew I had one on order from their business website. Some poor sod was 15 minutes late collecting his reserved one and they let me have it!
